Biography
Regina began her career at Southern in August 1997 as an Instructor of Nursing. Following the achievement of tenure and subsequent promotions, she attained the rank of Tenured Professor of Nursing.
Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her contributions with honors, including Employee of the Month and the Savas Kosta Award. She has also served on numerous college committees, including Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty Senate, Assessment, and Facilities.
In 2021, Regina became an ACEN Peer Reviewer, and in 2023, she was accepted as a Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Peer Reviewer, participating in multiple accreditation visits. She further expanded her leadership role by accepting the position of Director of Accreditation and Assessment in 2023. In 2024, she was selected to serve as an Evidence Review Panelist (ERP), and in February 2025, she was appointed the College’s Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) to the HLC.
Currently serving as Dean of Accreditation and ALO, Regina oversees accreditation efforts across all accredited programs and helps ensure the institution’s continued compliance with HLC standards. In May 2026, she received the Legacy Award from the Department of Nursing during its Pinning and Commencement Ceremony in recognition of her longstanding commitment and service to the program.
